Happy 10 Months Girls!!!

My girls are 10 months today. They are growing into such beautiful girls. I can't get over how much I love being a mom and seeing those bright smiles every time I enter into a room. Sure, there are hard days and days when I don't get enough sleep or enough down time but as soon as I see those sweet faces I forget about how tired I am.

Addison my first born is our happy child. She always has a smile and a laugh for you. She is content with playing by herself and loves to learn new things.

- she is working on teething but has not cut any teeth yet
- is very close to crawling. She gets up on all fours rocks back and forth and scoots backwards but hasn't learn to go forward yet
- is still 100% breastfed
- loves to eat puffs, bananas, green beans, and applesauce. She eats some table foods and prefers if you feed her
- is making many sounds, has said dadda briefly but hasn't put any other words together yet
- doesn't like to be touched by her sister, LOL
- loves bath time
- is wearing mostly 12 month clothes but some 9 month clothes still fit fine

Riley my second born is our child full of fire. She loves to express herself through various sounds. She insists on saying "dadda" all the time and doesn't want to say mamma yet.

- she has 2 full teeth in and just cut her 3rd
- loves to roll on the ground but doesn't have much interest in trying to crawl
- is 100% breastfed
- loves puffs, cheese, yogurt, bananas, and anything she can pick up and put in her mouth. Prefers to feed herself
- loves to go shopping with mommy
- intently thinks about things before moving forward
- doesn't like to sit in one place too long
- loves bath time
- is wearing the same 12 month clothes as her sister

Plans are in the works for their 1st birthday. I am so excited yet so sad that a year has almost passed. Sometimes I wish tomorrow would come faster but most of the time I wish time would slow down so I can hold each moment for just a little longer.

Happy 10 months girls!!!

Help me in the March of Dimes Walk

Those of you who read my blog regularly have seen the icon to the left about supporting me in the Phoenix March of Dimes walk. I will be walking with the girls along with Brea and hopefully some family members to raise awareness of premature births. The walk will be on Saturday April 17th, just a week shy of the girls 1st birthday. I was lucky to hold on to my girls for 32 weeks of pregnancy despite all of the complications I had. Some mothers are not so lucky and more than 1 million preemie babies die each year.

If you remember, our girls were born at 32 weeks and Addison weight 4 pounds 6 ounces and Riley weighed 3 pounds 12 ounces. Luckily, they did really well and have thrived from the beginning. They are now around 17 pounds each an very healthy.

Please support me in the walk. You can make a donation by clicking on my link on the left side of the page and it will take you to our team page where you can donate. If you are part of our friends and family in the Arizona area and want walk with us, please let me know.

Thanks for all of your continued support!

Funny Video

Riley is a funny girl. This video shows her devotion to her daddy, or maybe she just hasn't broadened her vocabulary yet.

Not much going on

Things have been busy for us lately, so much so that I haven’t had much time to update the blog. Mostly, there has not been much in the ways of updates either leaving me with little to say. Homework has been killing me and school and homeowrk has been doing the same to Jesse. Also, the girls and I all got a pretty nasty cold starting last week. Poor Addison has been hit with it the hardest. I feel for my little babies that can’t blow their noses and take care of the congestion themselves. Instead we are chasing after Addie with a Kleenex and the bulb syringe most of the day, just so she can breathe and eat as close to normal as possible. Riley has been doing much better only requiring a little attention to her nose with the syringe.

We are starting to get into planning mode. The girls will be a year old in 2 short months. That’s right, they are turning 10 months this week and then it is just 2 months until my babies turn 1. We are planning the 1st birthday party with the help of my friends Brea and Trinity. We are hoping to do the party at a park and invite a bunch of family and friends to celebrate. Brea will be helping with the decorations and planning while Trinity will be hand making their invitations.

We are also planning our trip to go out and meet Trinity and her family. My good friend Trinity and I have been online friends for over 2 years now and we went through infertility together and ended up conceiving our girls around the same time. Trinity beat me to pregnancy by one short month but I had her show her a thing or two and I delivered my girls early just shy of a week before she delivered her daughter. We have so much in common and it is only right that we finally meet in person. The girls, Jesse, and I will be flying out to Texas to stay with her family next month on the 12th. Jesse will be meeting up with some of his online gaming friends that live in Texas and the girls and I will enjoy some shopping and fun.

In May we will be taking the girls to San Diego / Oceanside for a real visit. We were there on Christmas Eve during our flight mishap but the girls didn’t get to enjoy our family vacation spot and we didn’t even have time to take them to the ocean. We will be staying there for a week with my parents in a nice 2 bedroom condo on the beach. I’m so excited to show them the beach and our family’s vacation spot. They will be meeting their Great Grandma Barb as well as some other close Haasis family members. We will be making the 6 hour drive instead of flying and we are praying the girls do well on the trip. They did okay in December but they were over tired from the flight disaster so maybe this time will be easier. We plan to stop often and enjoy the drive rather than trying to get to San Diego as fast as possible.

Wish us luck on all of these exciting trips and milestones.

Happy Valentines Day

This is the girls first Valentine's Day. I know they don't even know what is going on but they were excited to get cards in the mail today. My best friend Brea was such a sweetheart and she sent Valentines in the mail to me and the girls. She is such a sweet "Aunt" to the girls and the world's best friend to me!!! The girls don't understand what getting mail is all about, but they sure loved opening their card and they especially loved chewing on the cards.

Here they are getting their cards:

My mom and I took Granny out to lunch for her birthday. We went to a Mexican restaurant and the girls got to eat some cheese and meat right along with us:

When we came home, Jesse had bought me balloons and a beautiful rose. Jesse and I are doing a date this weekend to a hotel to have a night alone as a couple while my mom watches the girls. I wasn't sure if we would actually get each other something since we have our weekend set up already but Jesse was so sweet to have a nice gift waiting for me when I came home. I love you very much honey!!

The girls were amazed by the balloons, especially Addie. She played with them most of the night.

And here is a happy Addie smile to end the day after her dinner:

We wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day!!!

New Bath Tubs

The girls have been getting a little too big for their infant bath tub that we use in the sink. They have been grabbing on to everything around the kitchen sink, splashing all over the place and growing out of their bath tub. I decided to find some bath rings because they still aren't proficient at sitting up in the bath tub without slipping. Now they can play in the tub together and take their bath at the same time. This will speed up the bath time process and allow them to have more fun.

Bath time fun:

Do you like our pretty dresses?

I found the Yellow dress Addison is wearing when I went to buy my friend Trinity's daughter a dress for Christmas. I loved it so much I went back and bought one for Addison and a pink one for Riley. They were showing more of their sitting and smiling skills. Yay for happy babies!!!!

For those of you who thought having twins would be fun....

Here is what the witching hour looks like at our house. This is the 1 hour right before bed time. This is how the girls are just about every night. They already go to bed at 6pm but they are still over-tired by 5pm.

Watch the video to see what I mean. We love our girls dearly and wouldn't change anything for the world, but we wanted to show you the work involved at what our house sounds like every night. Enjoy:

Another trip to the Cardiologist

Both girls went back to the cardiologist. The last time I posted about the cardiologist, Addison was being taken off her heart medication as they thought she was outgrowing the SVT. We took her off the meds and put her on a Holter monitor for 24 hours. A few weeks later the office called to say she had an SVT episode where her heart rate was in the 180's-200's for a period of time. So they advised us to put her back on the meds. This visit was a follow up to see what to do about the medication for Addison and an ultrasound to look at Riley's heart. Riley's heart has formed correctly and the small holes she had closed up and there is barely a detectible heart murmer. Riley is now discharged from the Cardiologist. Yay baby girl!!! As for Addison, the Cardiologist wants to double the dose of medication she is taking for the next 4 months and then try to wean her again with another 24 hour monitor. We are hoping she won't have any episodes in the next 4 months and she can grow out of the condition and be free of medication Here are some pictures from the day as well as a video of them playing while they were waiting for the doctor to come in. They are just wearing their diapers and happy to be naked. Riley: Addison:

Milestones

How has a whole week gone by again since I posted to the blog. I always feel like there are so many things I want to add to the blog and then time gets away from me. The girls have met some milestones that I don't think I have really blogged about yet. Riley says "Dada" all the time now. She actually yells Dada all through out the day and we normally tell her "No, Dada is not here, he is at work". I don't think she knows what Dada means, but she sure loves to say it all the time. Addison is playing "patty cake" all the time. She is actually using it as a self soothing thing as well as a fun game. She will cry and get upset at something and then start playing patty cake help her feel better. Both girls are sitting up independently now. Riley seemed to be the stronger one at first with her sitting abilities but lately she has become lazy and wants to lean all the way forward to grab her toys rather than pulling herself back up to a sitting position. Addison is doing fantastic. She holds a perfect sitting position and is able to grab her toys and then come back to her sitting position. Here are some photos and videos of their milestones:
