The end is in sight

The end is in sight for finishing my masters degree. I can not tell you how excited I am to be done with school. I have been taking classes at UOP for just shy of 5 years. I had very few credits to transfer in so I had to start at the bottom and work my way up. I finished an AA in business, then it was on to a BS in Business Management, and now I am 7 weeks away from finishing an MBA with an emphasis in health care administration. I wanted a marketable degree and that is why I chose the MBA but I didn't want to forget about my health care roots so I chose the health care emphasis.

Now you ask, "what will I do with my degree"? I'm not sure yet. I plan to stay at UOP for a while longer. I would eventually like to teach some of our online or ground classes but you need to wait 2 years after finishing a degree with the company before you can begin teaching. In that two years I am contemplating taking a second masters degree. I would like to finish the masters degree in Adult Education so I will be more marketable as a college instructor. If I can find a way to work part-time and teach on the side, I may be able to be home with the girls more often. So that is the plan as I see it now. I will be taking the summer or at least most of the summer off to enjoy some time away from writing papers and studying, but then I will get back into the grind and try to complete the 2nd masters program while I wait out the 2 year waiting period.

Jesse is also finishing his degree shortly. He has 1 class left that will begin in 2 weeks so he is just 8 weeks away from being done. He will then be a certified teacher. We hope he will be extended another contract at South Ridge High school next year so he can learn more as a teacher. We just pray he has a job next year whether it be at South Ridge or another high school.

I also want to give a shout out to my dad for finishing his Masters in Psychology program here at UOP. He finished a few weeks ago and is enjoying the fruits of his labor, or something like that, LOL. He is now working on his comedy tour. You can see his blog and read up on his latest North West tour here

Jesse, my dad, and I will be walking in the graduation ceremony together in June. We can celebrate together!!!!

The end is near and Jesse and I can show the girls now important it is to get an education. At least we can be done before they remember how often we were glued to our laptops feverishly trying to finish our homework every week.
